Silver gelatin dry plate, 2024-ongoing

This ongoing series of rock surfaces is shot on glass plates hand-coated in silver gelatin emulsion. In these images, the weathered stone surfaces interact with the unpredictable surfaces of the image. The chemical and temporal processes that eroded both image and subject resist an illusory image/subject collapse, instead creating an image-as-object. This work captures time scales, massive and minuscule, of elemental change.
