Untitled (16 Frames per Second)
16 silver gelatin prints from 16mm film. 2023
This set of prints was shot on 16mm motion picture film at 16 frames per second, for a total timescale of 1 second represented. Using homemade equipment, the film was hand-developed and enlarged. A short, arbitrary moment of rushing water is captured across these frames, and the motion that emerges in the space between them becomes the subject—a piece as much about the abstract phenomena of time as the physical phenomena of nature.
